Google Pixel price and release date
Google tends to release its Nexus devices towards the end of the year alongside its new operating system – just as it did last year with the Nexus 5X and Android Marshmallow. The Google-HTC partnered device has dropped the Nexus name and is now called Pixel.
As for the Google Pixel price, it starts at $649, like its predecessors, and acts as a counterpoint to the more 'premium' Pixel XL.
Google partnered with Verizon to release the device and therefore will only be available for this major carrier in the US. Preordering starts now. Releases in other countries will come later.
Google Pixel specs
The specs for the Pixel devices were released at the Google event today. As you can see from the image below, the Pixel comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 quad-core chipset backed with 4 GB RAM and 32 GB internal memory. And it comes with a 2,770 battery, smaller than most released this year.
Google Pixel software
The Google Pixel is the first device to be released with Google Assistant. Additionally, Google claims that this phone was created with a strong partnership between HTC and Google and the hardware and software are integrated well. The Pixel comes with Android Nougat right out of the box.
Google Pixel design
The Google Pixel has an all aluminum body with polished glass screen. The curved edges and other design features are reminiscent of the iPhone and could no doubt face criticism for this. The Google Pixel comes with a 5-inch HD AMOLED display.
