The news arrives via Android Police and, if accurate, would suggest that the devices would survive being held upright in the rain. Though it may disappoint those hoping for water resistance to match Samsung's Galaxy S7 and Apple's recently announced iPhone 7 – both of which feature IP68 certification – Google's last Nexus phones lacked IP certification altogether.
The Google Pixel devices are expected to launch on October 4 with Android 7.0 Nougat. Said to be manufactured by HTC, the new devices succeed 2015's Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P, and mark the end of the long-standing Nexus series.
